Not every "family package" is actually built for families. Before you book, it helps to know what questions to ask so you don't end up with an itinerary designed for solo backpackers instead.
First, check the pace of the itinerary. Families with young children need more rest time between activities than a couple traveling alone. Second, confirm room configurations — many hotels charge extra for connecting rooms or triple occupancy, so ask about this cost upfront rather than at check-in.
Third, look closely at what "all-inclusive" actually includes. Some packages cover only breakfast, while others include all meals and even some excursions. Always ask for a full breakdown before comparing prices between agencies.
Finally, consider travel insurance that covers the whole family, including pre-existing conditions for grandparents if they're joining. A good travel agent will walk you through all of this instead of just pushing the cheapest option.
